Terms of Service Agreement
Nashville Wedding Ceremony
This agreement made on _______, between _______ [Referred to as client], and Karen Burns, for officiating the wedding of ___ and ___ on MM/DD/YYYY with officiant arriving at __:__ AM/PM at ___ .
Operating Nashville Wedding Ceremony in a legal and ethical manner is of utmost importance to me. Before I perform your ceremony, I must:
See both the bride and groom’s valid picture I.D. prior to the day of the wedding.
Receive your marriage license upon my arrival at your venue prior to the ceremony on the day of your wedding.
You must choose one witness to the ceremony who is18 years or older and not immediately family. If your ceremony is performed in Kentucky two witnesses are required.
Your ceremony will not begin until I have received these documents.
An initial retainer of 25% of total cost paid by cash, check, or Cash App, must be secured prior to any services being performed by Officiant.
Contracted package
Includes all services described in selected package details reviewed and distributed to clients.
Final Payment
Complete payment is due on the day of your wedding prior to your ceremony.
Marriage License
Client understands that it is the client's responsibility to acquire a valid marriage license in the state where the wedding will take place. Failure to have these legal documents means that the wedding officiant cannot legally perform your ceremony. The officiant may at his/her discretion perform a symbolic ceremony, which will have no legal merit, and perform another ceremony in private for the couple once the legal documents are presented, for an additional fee.
Travel
The first 25 miles I travel are complimentary, after which I charge .55¢ per mile. The cost of travel will be made known to the client prior to the preparation of this proposal.
Parking/Valet Fees – Parking or valet fees greater than $5 will be covered by Client. Client can choose to make arrangements to cover costs directly with the venue/valet service or reimburse Consultant with the final payment.
Cancellation Policy
If you cancel our agreement for any reason up to thirty days before the agreed upon date, the 25% deposit will be forfeited.
Cancelations less than 30 days before the agreed upon date will be
charged 50% of the agreed upon contract.
If you cancel our agreement the day of the wedding, you will be charged 100% of the agreed upon fee for all packages.
Elopements may cancel the agreement up to three days before the agreed upon date.
Elopements
Wikipedia’s definition of ‘elopement’ is: “a marriage conducted in a sudden fashion with only a few guests.”
My elopement packages allow no more than 10 guests. If you have requested an elopement package and upon my arrival to your venue, I find there are more than 10 guests you will be charged for a standard package.
Late Start
While I understand that there may be circumstances that cause you to run behind, it is pertinent that we start your ceremony at the contracted time as I often have more than one wedding scheduled on the same day.
If your ceremony is running so behind that I will not be able fulfill my other commitments, I will have to leave your venue to keep my other commitments. In this case you are still responsible for full payment before my departure from your venue.
If I have no prior engagements scheduled following yours and your ceremony starts more than one half-hour late, there will be an additional charge of $25.00, with a $25.00 charge for each additional one-half hour.
Ceremony Items
If the ceremony includes a sand ceremony, unity candle, or any other special feature, the client is responsible for.
The undersigned have read this contract, understand its terms, and agree to be bound thereby. Any additions, deletions, or revisions must be made in writing and approved by all responsible parties. The parties agree that this contract is the complete and exclusive statement of the mutual understanding of the parties.
